Share Fiction on ISCABBS

I'm trying something new with the Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror forum on ISCABBS. See the link for the full details:

Share Fiction on ISCABBS

Share Your Fiction on ISCABBS is a pilot project where members of ISCABBS can share Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror with each another. I am donating my 2006 issues of Analog magazine to the cause.

Here's how it works:

  • Those interested in sharing fiction will list their magazines or books on this site. Each issue of a magazine will have its own page on the wiki. The wiki page for the item will list the pertinent bibliographic information describing the item, as well as who is currently in possession of the item.

  • Those interested in the item will contact the person listed on the wiki page, via ISCA Mail> requesting the item, providing address information to which the item will be mailed.

  • The person holding the item will then mail the item to the person requesting it using that address information.

  • Each step along the way can be entered to the items wiki page, so all items will be accurately tracked.

  • Once the person receives the item, that item is theirs to keep until someone requests it from them. Their only obligation is to "pass it along" when requested.

The idea is to use wiki-based web pages to make it easy for ISCABBS members to share magazines and books with each other. The wikis provide some permanence that a scrolling forum does not. Publishing the project on the wiki might also cause people searching for these items on the web to find ISCABBS, and maybe even give them an incentive for joining ISCABBS!
